Women’s age-old obsession in the UK: fashion and online bingo

Aside from fashion, women have a new form of addiction nowadays. In a study conducted by GamCare, a UK organization that provides support and advice to anyone suffering from a gambling problem, nearly one-in-five of its female clients were bingo players, with 70% playing online and only 24% through traditional bingo halls.
The popularity of online bingo among women can be credited to bingo companies’ extensive use of promotions and advertisements. This is backed up by 2013 statistics from UK media regulator Ofcom. It states that 38.8% of all gambling ads aired that year were for bingo. The Biscuit Agency, a well-known creative agency in the country, is working with famous online bingo site FoxyBingo for their multi-million pound TV ad campaign.
Although some women find bingo extremely addictive, the game can also be a form of therapy to others. In fact, in 2011, famous model Kate Moss has tamed her well-documented wild ways for bingo. Now Moss is living happily with Lila Grace, her daughter with Jefferson Hack, and her husband Jamie Hince, guitarist for The Kills.
Aside from online bingo, UK is also the birthplace of today’s fashion forward women such as Alexa Chung and Cara Delevingne. From model to English TV presenter to contributing editor at British Vogue, Alexa Chung is now hoping to release her debut fashion label this year. Chung first revealed in August 2012 that she was planning to design her own line. This is not the first time Chung has turned her hand to design. In 2010, she teamed up with American store Madewell and has also collaborated with beauty brand Eyeko, and fronted campaigns for Maje, Superga, Lacoste and L’Oreal. Chung is into comfy but sophisticated style pieces like the lemon ensemble she wore at the Christian Siriano fashion show in NYC last February 8. Chung, who has modeled for Siriano before, looked fashion forward in a lemon fluffy jumper, which she sported with a matching lemon and metallic A-line skirt.
British supermodel and actress Cara Delevingne is currently the face of Burberry’s Beauty campaign alongside fellow English models Edie Campbell and Jourdan Dunn. Delevingne, whose model trademark is her dark and busy eyebrows, has a model party-gal style. Her off duty model look consists usually of a grungy black and leather ensemble while she wows the red carpet with a sexy, stylish dress. In fact, last February 18, she debut the Mulberry bag she designed while turning heads with a very low cut vintage style kimono dress she wore at the Elle Style Awards in London. This girl really knows how to make an entrance!

SO, not that I’m not in complete love with these babies, but you know, sometimes you’ve gotta learn to let go… I can’t really wear them due to the weather in San Francisco, so if you are part of the wonderful L.A or Texan sun, here you go. These are for you. They are now listed on ebay:
Also, I’m taking offers by email, so they can go lower in price!

Oh say can you see? Can you see my super-bright sneakers? They’re my new boyfriends. They proposed as soon as I decided they were everyday shoes, so naturally, we will spend every breathing moment together. I can’t wait to distress the fuck out of them. Also, as you may already have noticed, I finally had the guts to cut my bangs and here’s their debut! I tried to hint it on the title, which will probably sound familiar since I borrowed from the national anthem’s title. If you live in SF and are looking for a great haircut place do not fear to email me, as I will direct you to the best hair dresser with the best prices in town.

Why is it that we get the best weather in February and the coldest hell in the middle of July? All I know is I want to live in February forever, when it is allowed for the clouds to open up and the sun to kiss my face. I wasn’t wearing anything under this super-roomy pullover and I didn’t suffer from hypothermia which is a good sign that the weekend will probably offer some sun. Finally I can free myself from layers (no offense to the lovers of layering like Leandra Medine) since my favorite thing in the world is to be bare and free. Notice that I am also not wearing any socks, which contributes to my point. In any other month of the year (Ahem, July) my toes would have turned purple and fallen off due to the unbearable cold weather. So, yes, I do like to wear socks with heels because, duh, it looks cute, but it also contributes to the warmth that my toes very much need in this San Fran crazy rollercoaster weather.
